Windows 7 evaluationBecause of my age and maybe interest of technology, Windows 95 is the first OS i have ever heard. It was the most popular OS in that time. After years, Windows 98 has been released and became very popular. I still use it on my old PC :) Then Microsoft released Windows 2000 which is the next generation of NT based systems and ME, the next generation of 98. But they couldn’t get the expected interest by users…

Than XP (for me the king of the operating systems) has been released. I guess, (i am guessing because i don’t know the history before Windows 95) it is the most favorite Microsoft OS ever. In designwise, Microsoft made a great job on XP. It was also the most easy to use OS that i have ever used.

I think Vista has been released by mistake :)) After a great OS like XP, Microsoft disappointed its users by releasing Vista which is full of bugs. Most people continued to use XP and prefered to wait the next OS, and some of them started to use Vista after SP2.

Now, Windows 7 is in our plate. I have already thoughts and experiences about it but before i share them with you, i want to hear your comments about it. Please evaluate it with its all features like visuality, security, usability, drivers, networking…

What do you think? Windows 7 is an OS to be forgotton like Windows ME, Vista, 2000 or will it have a place in our minds forever?

I think that Windows 7 will be overlooked in the light of history. It is a solid OS. It is a little ahead of its time with its multi-threading and multi-core optimization. Most computers in use today will never be able to fully take advantage of how advanced Windows 7 really is. Windows 7 will be replaced before its power is truly harnessed by the masses. I believe the OS was a little rushed and could have benefited from more testing and beta feedback, but I understand that they couldn’t just leave Vista floating around in the world. Overall it is the best OS Microsoft has released to date, and programmers have shifted their emphasis from the old architecture of XP to the new world of Vista SP2/Seven.

I personally think Win-7, is the best OS MS has come out with to date. Yea, Vista sucked, but MS learned from their mistakes. Being a programmer myself, the more you work on something, the better you make it. Let’s imagine a code name of Win-10, maybe 5-7 years down the road. Imagine how good (I hope), that OS will be. I am a true MS fan; have been since DOS 6.0 (oh, crap, I’m showing my age). It can only get better! Just my 2c worth.

Remembered forever. first because it is in big contrast with his predecessor and because it is really the best operating system as easiness, tools, excellent window management and so on and so on.
In fact Vista is not a fail it is a really big step for MS - the way it was designed and the features it contained. Imagine - if we didn’t have Vista would be Windows 7 such an excellent product now? think of that side of the things. ;)

I think that windows 7 will be remembered. Because of the visuals and how well it can perform when put to the test.
