Windows7As we struggle through Vista with its high resource demand, high hardware requirements, and high price, it is hard to believe that Windows 7 will be with us in about 3 years. Since Microsoft hasn’t mentioned what they have planned for us, this is a great time to think about some of the things I would like to see. I know, i’m only dreaming. But maybe, just maybe, some of the things I would like to see in Windows 7 may just come true.

Less resource demand
What about an operating system that needs 64MB Ram and 800Mhz CPU? It would be great for me. I would use it in my all computers at home :) I wouldn’t have to buy a new PC for every new version of Windows as i do it now.

Pricing
I would be glad to pay only $29.90 for the new version not $199. Less is even better.

Security
It would be nice to be sure that my files are in safe. Nobody is currently stealing them or nobody is logging my keyboard. I want to install it and forget the security. Microsoft should take care of my PC.

One button Fix
There should be a button. When i press, it should fix any problems on my computer. Also there must be a Fix button in the error dialog boxes. But still i am glad that i didn’t see any “There is an unknown error in the system” error message in Vista :) Thanks to Microsoft.

I hope Microsoft will hear my voice. Do you have any ideas/wishes to be heard? Please comment.

I agree with you. These are the “must have” requirements. Also there might be a completely 3D desktop. I mean, it would be nice to have it.

So you want them to deliver a better product for a fraction of the price they currently sell it at?

Perhaps you shouldn’t of got Vista, but if people keep buying their crap products at expensive prices why would they consider changing to what the customer s say they want?

  3. admin Says:

Yes you are right. As i heard, more then 60 Million copy of Vista is sold until now. Refer: http://news.softpedia.com/news/60-Million-Copies-of-Windows-Vista-Completely-Eclipse-Apple-61259.shtml

So, why will Microsoft decrease the price while people are buying it at that price?

Vista should be free for home use. Charge the buisiness users who can write off the cost as tax deductable.

Having said that, Ive not paid for a single copy of windows yet, but its the principle of the thing.

You don’t have a job huh? Only someone without a job would want Windows for 29.95. Windows 1.0 cost $100, Windows 95 cost $89, Windows Vista Home Basic $89, come on, don’t be that cheap. You see value enough in the product to want it, at least have the money to buy the upgrade or the cheapest version.

Yeah, i have a job. But i don’t earn millions of dollars everyday like Microsoft. I don’t believe that the value of Windows 1.0 is a hundred dollars. Or the others. Why is Bill Gates one of the richest people on the world? I believe that he earns more that he has to. So, i didn’t pay $89 to Vista and i wouldn’t pay a similar value to Windows 7.

Meanwhile, if you earn too much, why don’t you think to send me a few bucks to buy a Windows Vista :)

“64MB Ram and 800Mhz CPU” – Honestly if you still have a computer like this, you really need to upgrade, or you’re just going to have to stick with an older OS. While it would be nice for the new OS to take up less resources in general, honestly, what if Windows 7 took advantage of CPU instructions that were standard today, like SSE? You might as well ask that Crysis run on a GeForce 256 or a Voodoo 2, nicely.

“I would be glad to pay only $29.90 for the new version not $199″
Mac OS X runs for $170 retail. Unfortunately for Microsoft, Apple always ships the “Ultimate” version (which they gloat). Considering the competition. Besides that, Windows Vista Ultiamte is $180, for an OEM version. You just have to know where to shop.

“It would be nice to be sure that my files are in safe. Nobody is currently stealing them or nobody is logging my keyboard. I want to install it and forget the security. Microsoft should take care of my PC.”
There’s two things about security that I’ve learned, even though I’m not some sort of security guru:1. Hackers will always find a way in, regardless; 2. A lot of home PC security problems tend to be at the end-user’s fault.

“There should be a button. When i press, it should fix any problems on my computer.”
And I like a button that when I press, gives me a mocha cappuccino. You can’t expect a program to fix itself against any problem (especially BSODS, which most of them are hardware related), unless you want the requirements higher or the OS to come out in 10 years.
