Windows 7 is Microsoft’s newest operating system after Windows Vista.
Previously code-named Blackcomb and Vienna, it is touted as a major improvement over its notorious predecessor - lighter, snappier and more feature-laden than Windows Vista.
Infact, Windows 7 even runs well on older hardware, as Paul Thurrot (Winsupersite.com) found out…
“It runs as well on this little piece of junk as it does on a 2009-era netbook. This UMPC has an 800 MHz Celeron processor and just 1 GB of RAM.“

Since Windows 7 is an incremental and not a major upgrade to Windows Vista, it is expected to be compatible with the majority of programs that run under Windows Vista. |
