Yesterday night Microsoft released the official beta build 7000 version on Microsoft Evaluation Center. Here is the link to download page :

But after a few hours, downloads have been closed by Microsoft because of heavy traffic:
“Thanks for your interest in the Windows 7 Beta. The volume has been phenomenal — we’re in the process of adding more servers to handle the demand. We’re sorry for the delay and we’ll re-post the Beta as soon as we can ensure a quality download experience.“
Currently, it is not possible to download it from Microsoft Evaluation Center but you can download the beta from this link :

The german direct-download link stops after 40 MB, so at the moment there is no german download possible

k this was suppose to be a 2.43 gig download and it completes at 17% 385 megs wtf

Stopped after 72mb. any one got an answer why this happens?

Yeh - Mine went to 2.15 Gig and then said Download Complete. I burned the iso to a disc and the autorun was corrupt etc. It LOOKED as if the files and folders were all complete but there was a problem associated with “Foreign Block Length”. The disc anyway was unuseable. Took 13 Hr 30 Mins to DL too! heh

Yep downloaded pretty quickly and installed on virtual machine (512MB RAM) but still it is fast and running without a crash. Works fine. Need to do couple of more testing I guess.
Comparing to vista no major changes but it is faster and simplified

k to download this you gotta download with the download manager to complete i got the 32 bit installed on 1 computer works great looks awsome it installed my ethernet driver and sound driver but video driver it didnt now what driver do i install its onboard but do i install one for vista or xp cause there is no windows 7 drivers

I downloaded from Microsofts web site on Saturday only took 35 minutes, In stalled as a upgrade that went very bad, reinstalled as a clean install 24 minutes later up and running fine. All Hardware and drivers found and work.
Games like WOW work great too. I would not recomend to do a upgrade install though that took almost 3 to 4 hours and after first start it would lock up then restart. If you try this I recommend a clean install.

downloaded fine today, also did a clean install. So far so good much quicker than Vista

Got the download from a friend. Tried the upgrade and didn`t work. Did a new installation and worked perfect. Problem is, it sees my dvd roms as removeble drives. Everytime I remove a dvd, the drive dissipears and says “drive safe to remove”. Then I have to re-start to fix the problem.

Download and installed it on sekond drive. But with Cordless keybord dual boot is not possible. I have to chance settings in Controlpanel and restart if I want to start 2, OS.
